The Perforator Hive boss is from the Terraria Calamity Mod

The lore for this boss is that the perforator hive is actually the remains of the brain of Cthulhu and the way it got that way is that it came back together and rotted and started using ichor to help reform itself as it got infested with bugs and worms

This fight is super cool as it combines skill and endurance in a cool way. The perforator hive is already hard to kill but will spawn three worms to aid it in killing you which isn’t too easy to endure for long but still fun and possible

dawg was fr fighting with the boss for 5 mins. it only had a bit over 8k hp he didn't have to kill the worms or smth
i did the fight even tho i didn't know that this thing spawns a boss so i wasn't ready for it.

It always bothered me why the cysts would form on the surface, if the boss is meant to be fought underground (it enrages on surface crimson, so most new players end up defeating the boss enraged without even realizing :/)

I think an idea of adding content which the other evil has is genius.
I mean that people who started with the crimson evil has less experience of fighting a worm boss which later on, the same crimson players would have difficulty fighting the destroyer. The presence of perforators can help the crimson players by giving them some experience of fighting a worm boss three times in a row.
