Hey Marty, really enjoy your videos. I'm an old head banger from way back whose never played any instrument. My son had an old electric guitar and amp so in April I turned 65 and decided to give it a shot! I try to practice almost every day and I'm having fun (even though I suck). You're missing what I feel is the most important part: when you hit that D (5th fret) on the A string, he slightly bends the note while simultaneously hitting the open D string, creating that distinct dissonance.
