Man I went on this in the box kick and sold all my outboard gear. To include my Urie 1178. I think about it every month. It was beautiful. Every servicer said it was the cleanest they’ve ever seen.

😆 I feel ya pain. Sold my Avalon 737 back in 2015 along with a tlm 103. I miss that combo. Sold a rme babyface pro not too long ago due to lack of use. Hopefully that doesn’t come back to bite me.

I agree Apogee has some of the best conversation around

Great vid as always Rayne! i regret selling my Heritage TT73 preamp and Aston spirit microphone. Loved that combo. It would be great if you could still do a video about your top 10 pieces desert island pieces of gear right now (especially mics). Thanks

Great video. Thx.
I'm not sure about A/D unit between the new Heritage audio i73. It's got 1073 style preamp, generally they do make decent units. I use SSL2+ right now, I'd like to upgrade my A/D. Do you think they have close to RME or Apogee converters?
Sorry it's a hand full of question. Thx. Also I see you have Raptors cap on, are you in Toronto? I am.

One I regretted from back in the day was selling my Akai MPC2000 classic. The first MPC I bought. I wasn't using it at the time and I needed the money. Year later when I learned to use MPCs properly I wanted to get another one but ended up swapping a S2000 rack sampler for a MPC2000XL, the upgrade, which I still have.

I just purchased a duet 3 for travel work, not quite the same A/D conversion as the symph but hoping for some of that magic.

My Presonus Sceptre S8 monitors, I haven't heard them in a few years, but i still remember the day i heard them for the first time and was blown away by the quality you get for a somewhat budget monitor. You will not find a bad review or complaint on these monitors..

Original Focal Twin 6 BE - absolutely stunning monitors that I got for their original MSRP of $1500 a piece. I “traded up” for a set of Adam S3H and Sub15, and it was the biggest mistake of my life. The Adams encountered failures twice within two years, they constantly exhausted my ears, I struggled to get mixes right.

I now use a set of ExMachina Quasar MKII and recently re-acquired a set of OG Focal Twins for b-speakers. Sometimes you do get a second chance!

If anybody wants the sound of a vintage u87 for less then 1k, buy the Stam 87i and thank me later 🥹

My only issue with the u87ai re issue is the SPL, it just can’t handle enough for my loud ass voice. It is a great mic though!

i thought the same thing about my u87 but after some time i had to change my mind its hard to replace that mic
i also got a question about the new Apogee Symphony Studio does it have the same converters as Symphony Mk II

you gotta check out the new KH120 II, they're leaps and bounds above the older ones, by a loongg shot. Anps gotten a massive power up, diver efficiency is better, insane SPL fullness, the DSP & factory tolerance mitigation makes them far more accurate. They're insane, beast transient performance top to bottom, insane separation for a 2-way, and stunning depth and imaging.

I've been to studio with big quested stacked mains, stacked PMC's, ATC's, Amphions, KII"s, you name it, these are still the best sound I've worked with. They sound at least 3 times the size.

Cheers!

Titus 2:11-13 KJV — For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

UA LA-610 MK2 I was in tight spot in my life and sold this unit and regretted and still regret selling it. I will however save up money or put new Hardware on a payment plan later on down the road. It's sucks but at least there always gonna be an alternative or you can just re-buy the piece and it's not the end of the world.
