Just go local and park at the terminal every day. Enough is enough, stand up and stop hauling the freight until the government does something. Unfortunately, the mega carriers will still sucker children into the industry to work for free. Carriers should be REQUIRED to provide parking for their drivers.

One major hurdle in getting private businesses to allow trucks to park is the outrageous increase in truck drivers who are slobs. Throwing their trash on the ground, dumping their pee bottles on the pavement.

I generally tried to be stopped by 10.25 hrs in moderate areas. In places i knew parking was available, id push it, but only when guaranteed (like at a company terminal)

I also did the 2 am to 3 pm schedule when possible. It worked in most places, other than the North East, Florida and Cali.

Yeah, some networks help, but most a re fee for park. its already too damn expensive to operate.

First and foremost, more government funded truck/rest stops. Especially in really dense areas and really empty areas. Good luck finding parking pretty much anywhere north of the Carolinas on I-95.

And the Appalachian/eastern mountains or other sparsely populated areas have few and far between parking, so its 1- 2 hours between stops.

Trucker path was "ok" but too many trolls lie and make the info suspect.

Sadly, truckers are also somewhat to blame: Walmart USED to allow trucks to park at all their stores. But, thanks to that small portion of truckers that think the world (aka parking lot) is their toilet and trash can, many stores stopped allowing it because of the nasty mess. Big box stores alone could make a huge difference, but they are now off.the table.

There are so many rest areas that are abandoned that they could work on. Either that or build more

Once upon a time truckers leaving the east coast going west and west truckers going east would free up spots and it was a pretty good balance. But now there are so many drivers that it doesn’t matter where you are there is to many trucks

Expanding truck stops doesn’t help because they only add paid parking spots.

States have also been closing rest areas, permanently, over the last 15 years.

The federal government should build truck parkings just outside of major cities or even in the cities. Truck stops have not enough parking spots.

I’m a new driver and the shortage of parking is terrible that I choose to drive at night. When ever I see parking areas for trucks there’s either no restrooms or it’s portable toilets that have been neglected causing a health issue. I’ll say by this point a petition is needed to address this issue

I am a truck driver in the Netherlands and drive a lot on Germany and Belgium, also here in the Netherlands just like in Belgium and Germany there is a parking space shortage, especially on industrial sites there are often no facilities. Governments show off A locations when it comes to the development of industrial site`s, but for truckers who drive on to the customer, there is often no possibility to spend the night anywhere on the industrial site in the evening.Germany alone is missing over 8000 parking spots.

When it's mandatory to drive and park after 11 hours. When you have drivers using the parking lot as a toilet it's gross and they don't want trucks parked there. I've seen drivers throw trash out and leave it.. I've seen bags of stools. Seen a drive open his door to pee. Then realized I wasn't a man. He did go to rest room. Drivers need to respect the places they park.

Parking a problem every where not just urban areas.... Change 10 hour break to 9 with an hour flexibility you can use in a pinch. Change team driving so you can do 6 and 6 or 7 and 7....

As a driver hauling reefer. If im already loaded, i get up as early as 1am and hit the road. Im done by 12 or 1 pm. If I'm loaded and have a delivery late in the eveing, than I stay up and drive through the night. I know there will be spots available after 3am. I never have trouble. I remember a person said that it was easier for company drivers. But i think that logic is dumb. If you're an O/O, you control your loads. Learning how to split your clock and manage your time better has worked in my favor.

It's sad when you have to use your personal conveyances whenyou to talk to dispatchers and there is no truck parking for miles and miles and they panic when there is nothing near by, that happened to me in PA and it absolutely sucked. Thankfully one of the managers found a cabellas that have truck parking after midnight but my goodness it was a pain in the butt.

#1 is TA/Petro to be sold to new owners who dont despise and screw drivers. Ontario, Ca is a $50 purchase to park. Most are in massive need of remodeling and updating, but they sure as heck make sure they always have tons of paid spots

Shippers and receivers should be obligated to provide parking to drivers!

I feel like truck drivers should be allowed to park on any shoulder on or off ramps that they want. . If they don’t want to build truck stops they shouldn’t be able to ticket drivers who have nowhere else to park.

I'm a bit lucky on parking, most of my shippers/receivers have parking available and most my loads have no delivery schedule other than the day, so if I need to shut down early it's usually not a big deal. I will give credit to Indiana. They have large parking only spots and are increasing the number at rest areas.

Truck parking has been an issue for over 20 years; the subject is just now gaining attention, which is a great thing if it leads to anything positive as a result, along with Truck Parking (no friggin RV's) there is the issue of the bridges and roads in both the U.S and Canada, so the over all infrastructure needs an overhaul and update, if you think the Governments are going to spent that kind of money, well I have ocean front property in Arizona to sell ya.
