Luke 23:28-31 utterly destroys any notion that modern Zionism is the "fig tree". The tree was green in the time of Christ, but had become dry within a generation . That generation that had its house cleansed and swept of demons, but had not repented, now was set for the habitations of devils that were 7 times as numerous, as Jesus had forewarned in that parable. The mob that had yelled "crucify Him!", had become utterly corrupted and 7 times as demonic and wicked within just a generation. Josephus attests to this fact in his account of the desolation of the Holy City in 70AD. Jerusalem, often called Babylon in the Old Testament, had become in Revelation, "Babylon the Great", the wicked city, a habitation of demons and all things foul and wicked, and was slated for the same violent overthrow as the smaller towns in Judea who had seen Christs great miracles and works and had not repented either.
