This time, the escalation came, when it became known that Nancy Pelosi, the chairman of the US Congress, will visit Taiwan during her big tour of Asia.

Upon hearing of this, China immediately issued an ultimatum to the US, saying that Nancy Pelosi's visit would be crossing the red line!
Chinese President She Jinping warned Joe Biden, that if the US crossed that red line, China would respond strongly, including a military response.
The Chinese media even offered to shoot down the plane which Nancy Pelosi would fly to Taiwan. However, Nancy Pelosi hasn't canceled her visit just yet!
The tension rises as everyone expects two things:
First, will Nancy Pelosi decide to visit the island of Taiwan, or cancel her visit at the very last moment?
Secondly, will China dare to give a military response?
And thirdly, if a war breaks out between China and the United States, who will win?

Something similar happened on the eve of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Putin back then also put forward some ultimatum demands to the Americans. Putin demanded that the Americans promise that Ukraine would never be accepted into NATO.
To which the Americans refused and then Putin invaded Ukraine.
Now we are witnessing quite similar narratives again.
China is issuing an ultimatum to the United States, demanding that Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan be canceled by marking such a visit with a red line.

I think that Nancy Pelosi will still visit the island, and China will not be able to respond.
Perhaps such ultimatum statements are heard from the President of China because of internal problems in his country.
China is experiencing an acUte economic crisis and President She Jinping is unable to bring the country out of this crisis. Many Chinese officials are unhappy and want to replace him in the upcoming elections.
Perhaps that is why She Jinping is trying to earn his authority on the external political agenda. He is walking on thin ice, because if he does not dare to respond decisively to the challenge, then his authority in China will collapse even more.
