The best day to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best is today

No truer words, man. I just hit 60 this year and have spent the greater portion of my life feeling as though I have done nothing but waste time. Not anymore! Everyday the alarm goes off at 4 am. I'm out of bed. I'm going to the gym to train. I've enrolled in college. I AM GETTING AFTER IT. Thanks Jocko and Echo. And to the 26 year old kid....keep kicking ass.

We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.

At 26y/o.... Don't worry about your wasted time. That's a big lesson in itself at 26. So just keep going forward, now that you know.

When you fix something that's broken, you understand how it works. Same thing applies to life.

I feel so lucky for being 16 y/o and I found this community because of the YouTube algorithm

He's getting after it, in his 20's, is not that late getting in the game. I am 46 and am getting after it, finally. It would have been awesome if I'd have started 20 years ago, but I am doing it now. Have No Regrets, just keep getting after it and getting better.

I'm 34. I wasted like 10 years of my life. 5 of them inside my room in my bed watching my cellphone or playing computer games. In 2015 I woke up. Lost 53 pounds and bought Discipline Equals Freedom. The path is not easy but is the right one.

I am 29 years old and I also feel like I have been wasting a lot of time. I do not have any good memory from those 9 years, did not accomplish anything. But it's time to change, time to own my past, and start living my life. I want to have good memories from my 20s, 7 months to go. It's now or never guys, let's do it.

Stopped consuming cannabis one week ago yesterday, just put in my letter of resignation today after 2+ years of toiling around in an unstable industry, what am I to do? Get After It and Get Some!

That is the point. Your wasted years weren't wasted. You have learned what it feels like to be weak and how regret feels like. Together with the realization that nobody is coming to help. it only lets you with 2 choices. Do nothing and live a miserable life or do something about it and get after it. Facing and understanding one's inner fears, demons, addictions, vices, failures and mistakes, let go of the past, be honest, serious, and confident, and pursue what you truly, deeply, and honestly want is the only way forward.

I was actually hoping today that Jocko and Echo would discuss this very topic at some point. Very metal.

This guy sounds exactly like me. I'm 28 years old and just got promoted at my company after 2 years in an entry level role. I've lost weight, gotten stronger, and am making more money, but feel remorseful about wasting so much time earlier in life. This video has such an encouraging message.

just turned 50 and this hits home. The regrets that have weighed so heavily on me nearly destroyed me. I've lost 60 lbs and get after it every day. Every day I try to be the best me and try to be better than yesterday. Just discovered Jocko and Echo and this podcast. Absolutely love it and believe me it's resonating with this old dude.

I'm 39 and just got my shit together 6 months ago after daily drinking for 20 years. It's hard to think about where I'd be if I had had more stable income and could have invested and researched more when I was younger(instead of getting drunk and playing COD) so I could already be financially independent, but at least I am finally starting that path, and it's not too late. Part of why I drank so much and often was from living in the past and letting regrets beat me up; no more!

10 years ago, I earned my 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I earned it the year I turned 40. Now, I'm turning 50 this year and I'm not finished. I'm a Navy veteran who loves listening to Jocko. It doesn't matter WHEN you get into the game, the most important thing is that you ARE engaging and getting into the game!

Success in life is the result of good judgment. Good judgment is usually the result of experience. And experience is usually the result of bad judgement.
