this just should NOT be a DLC item. When the arctic hazzy came out, we all knew it was Pay 2 Win. If you don't have that DLC you are literally nerfing yourself. I fear these barrels are in the same boat, even those torch holders (every time you respawn, throw your torch in a small box and add a new one when you need it). I love these items, but being able to DOUBLE your storage in the same sized loot room only by PAYING for it is extremely bad. Thing is, FP can't reverse this. They can't make it a findable/researchable item because then they'd have to refund the DLC to everyone who paid for it. MAYBE they can sneak a hitbox patch in to match it to a large box, but then they'd face backlash from the people who paid for it as well. In other words, this is just guaranteed P2W... again :/

For all 3 loot rooms shown it’s a total of 1536 slots. This doesn’t include weapon racks or TC either. So pretty much all of the loot for an entire week long wipe can fit in core and 2 loot rooms.

As a solo, you can live quite comfortably in a 1x1, but with this dlc, the whole zerg can fit there. Imagine the starter bases on wipe day.

Some tips for better placement and more realistic expandability -

Place a triangle when facing exactly 210 then place your square off it, then you can use your compass to ensure perfect placement. Upgrade the walls to shipping container for smaller hitbox instead of needing to flip walls to stone hard side and do everything in less than 10 minutes

Push a large box against the wall and pull slowly back with mouse til blue while moving left and right with keyboard, keeping compass in same position. Then switch to barrel and continue when you know alignment is perfect with large box

This is great, but I disagree with the "who puts locks on their boxes" element - true, 9 out of 10 it wont matter. But how many times have you seen people (looking at Sebby for example) that rush in naked, open boxes and whip out a gun / jackhammer from one of them to kill em all... It costs sooo little to lock your boxes, and can prevent some very painful stuff :P

I just tested this and with the vertical barrels you can fit more boxes on the top triangle.

The vertical barrel has a square hitbox, not sure if it's by design to make it not as OP, or it's a mistake..

For the first two barrels after you place the TC, use the lines of the floor at the bottom of your screen to make sure you are facing perpendicular to the wall. The first time that he placed it, it didnt work because he was not facing straight at the wall making the barrel angled towards the other barrel thus not giving it enough room to place. 90% of this stuff is finding some way to line it up properly.

If you place your stuff fast enough can you rotate the walls back around so you cant get soft sided

The vertical barrels have a cube like hit box. You can fit it closer to stuff based on the angle you look from

If you build the TC with the rotated walls, you can upgrade the furthest wall from the TC to stone later to place your barrels. If you don't have enough metal for your barrels yet you can wait to upgrade that third wall.

You can fit 9 vertical barrels inside a 1x1 with tight placement (with walls around them)
