Fender Telecaster American Ultra Double Humbucker Modification with EMG James Hetfield Pickups.

Purchased my first Fender Telecaster only to find out that they have a microphonic feedback issue when played through a high gain amp. This meant that the guitar would feedback scream (not in a good way) as soon as I hit the high gain channel switch.

Devastated, I found that the root cause of the issue is the pickup and bridge arrangement on the tele, which previously I wasn’t aware was an issue.

As I didn’t want to just sell the guitar, I decided to do a custom modification by changing to a set of double humbucker EMG James Hetfield Het Set active Pickups to overcome the microphonic feedback issue inherent with the Fender Tele.

Physical works done by Matt from Salt Mine Repair Service (Newcastle, Australia).

Check the video for full details of the modifications.

hello, sorry but the title is misleading because you don't show how to fix the problem, you just avoid the problem by changing the pickups. So I was disappointed :(

No! Misleading. You should have just bought a guitar with two hum buckers, this is no longer a Tele.
