To be fair, he played jax with grasp, and currenty there is no way to make a good trade against jax, cuz his W is unstoppable, even with cc.

Is it really that hard to stomp riven as jax xd? Jax facerolls most matchups after first buy, and after divine he just statchecks you and runs you down. Early game you just dont play in riven's AA range and you're good to go
