worth checking the reviews on walmart's site. I get nervous when there are any substantial "electrical" problems reported. There seem to be a few. (I take into consideration that competition can submit false reviews, and some reported problemsmay have been broken by user, then return to store, only to be sold to another customer (as Amazon and Best Buy seem to do all the time), so some reported problems can be user related/ poor inspection of returned items.
Personally, I wouldn't take a chance on this one. I have too many fires to deal with in California already. Don't need an electrical fire because I saved a few bucks. Too expensive if it does happen.
Cut corners where you can, but not when safety could be compromised.
(Spend where you have to. Like insurance: we pay for something we hope we never need.)
