Thinning out the apples on your young apple trees #shorts

Our apple trees in the orchard are now two years old and they're establishing into good, strong trees. This year, most of our varieties have blossomed and are trying to deliver vast amounts of fruit. In order not to overburden the trees from a nutritional perspective and to not place too much strain on their young branches, we're thinning out the apples. This means we'll have less apples to enjoy this year, but we're allowing our trees to establish so that they can deliver vast amounts of healthy fruit in the years ahead.

You should have thinned them out after the June puts more energy into the remaining fruit and plant growth.

Remove all damaged, partially eaten or disease infected fruit and dispose of it.
THEN thin fruit.
Some of the thinned fruit at that size can be used but its inadvisable to store damaged and undamaged fruit together for any length of time.
