Thank you for explaining how you are getting enough water pressure to power the things that you need to! This is really helpful.

Nice system. I’ve been making do with a roof water catchment system capacity of 120 gallons for 8 years. But I fill all my water jugs when it rains to give me another 100 gallons. Only in the summer. Winter water comes from under the lake ice or melting snow in pots on the woodstove. I’ve become a professional at using every drop wisely.

Redundancy is key especially living off grid. Two is one, one is none. Another great vid!

If you ran an electric fence wire below your gates it might help. There are solar electric fence chargers that are not that much. It will be hard keeping small animals from going under the gates. I do not know how small of animals you want to keep out.

Ohhh I see you fill the tanks from the spring.
My spring is downhill from my home so we have to pump up and then gravity feed from there. Appreciate all the tips and info!

I was going to say there’s a channel called the Green Dream Project that has built a small reservoir. They have something like 50k gal of water but live in AZ and only get a few downpours a year.

Mr. Ron, I totally understand the uncertainty of a well and no guarantee of water and or potable. Not including labor what do you have in tanks, piping and fittings?

Our property is so high up we buried two tanks to give us a total of 5000 gallons for our consumption. But we are thinking a similar thing like you have for the garden when the times comes. Where are you located? Do you have freezing temperatures. We had to bury all of our lines cause we have harsh winters

I love your setup, wish I had that type of terrain here.
Man, micro hydro is a dream of mine, but no way I can do it on this land.
Love the chickens helping you unload 🤣 🐓

Your water system is awesome! Ours still a work in progress. We couldn’t find any tanks last year to add to ours. Hopefully, we’ll have better luck this year. Have a great weekend Ron!!

I wish I could find property like what you have. I had a place in washington state that had a spring fed creek with a waterfall and cave on it but I did not own the land. I also had 5 acres in the forest in north florida and it was miserable, the ticks were insane! I bet property values in your area have skyrocketed since you purchased. You are living my dream, too bad the tyranny is holding us back from being able to do what your doing.

You have a great set up Ron. Ha yeah we are still doing some bucket bathing, in the winter.
What’s Chris’ channel?

Way to go. Agree that the best way is gravity feed all the way. I'm like many where the terrain makes it impractical. Currently have a well but also nineteen 275 gallon totesplus two 1200 gallon tanks for rainwater. Can gravity feed to my raised beds and chickens. Simple 12 volt on demand pump would provide pressure if I need it. Thanks for the info and ideas.

A+ Looks very good- I'm expecting more drought here in California. See how it goes with your stores
Generation of power in the winter by small hydro great idea-

Where are you regionally? Where did you source the tanks?
