Stacy's mom is a racist. You need to get friends for your daughter that won't teach her to hate herself. The black people I am friends with, especially the women, would of been more concerned that you didn't know how to style your daughters hair and would of tried to teach you how to do it rather than scold you.

Mom you're doing a great job. Stacy is not your friend she's being the racist she should be helping you with your daughter's hair. NTA. My daughter is biracial and we do similar stuff with her hair. My very white mother kept trying to do the sor of styles she was use to (which wasn't much, tbh) and it was horrible. My lil girl hated every second of it.

There's no such thing as a "black" hairstyle. Let alone any race specific one. All hairstyles can be used in any race. It all depends on your hair type and texture.

Hair is hair. No culture or race “owns” a hairstyle, yet some hair styles are more suited to others than not.
Genetics are important here. Your daughter has hair that can be styled certain ways, and not others. Skin does not matter, her genes have given her a certain hair type and the mother is simply doing what is best to care for her child’s hair.
But there is the “friend”, and then people who will say the exact opposite. Double standard
