Every Naruto fan knows the first hokage was a savage, one of the strongest characters to ever call themselves a shinobi. At one point he was even called the god of shinobi, but one question nearly every fan has asked is how did someone that strong die? Afterall, we know ninja like Kakuzu tried to kill Hashirama and failed but how did Hashirama die? Well, here’s what we know. Hashirama did live long enough to see Tsunade as a toddler but before she became a genin at age 6. We also know that the first great ninja war was so bloody that Hashirama held a five kage summit to try to stop the fighting and that the war resulted in the first two generation of five kage dying, which would have included Hashirama. At some point, before he died, he asked Tobirama to be kind to the Uchiha. While his cause of death isn’t stated, we do know he died during this period, because he died around 34 years old, naruto chapter 303 says 50 years passed since Hashirama died, which would be 34 years before naruto’s birth. This means either hashirama was caught off guard and killed or he died of ninja aids like Itachi.

I don't think Ninja "Aids" but ninja cancer. Hashirama cells led to immense self regeneration beyond comprehension as it could be told his cells reproduced at such a rate his body couldn't actually handle it.

Or maybe Hashirama suffered a curse similar to all Titan Shifters from Attack on Titan. Them Hashirama Cells were shortening his lifespan. Probably.

I always figured he died of being sick. Only person that would or could take him out is Madara. Everybody else would be a challenge bc he could take out a whole village himself with proper preparation

Illness maybe..the same illness hagoromo and Naruto got. But it could be that he didnt survive it. That makes sense and also does his title honor.
