Taiwan's main stock index plunged by over 600 points, one of the biggest drops in the country's history. The drop is thought to have been caused by U.S. President Joe Biden's decision to exit the race for reelection, as well as recent comments by his rival Donald Trump about U.S. defense support for Taiwan.
