I got my first one of the season as and it's a Lawn Boy! Kohler engine though. I only buy, fix & sell. Haven't made the leap into repair services... yet.

I liked the old Lawn Boy 2 cycle engines. They were really lite in weight and the added benefit was the smoke they made sort of chased mosquitos away.

really good video Bruce so on honda engines when checking oil you just have to lay dip stick in

The Mrs. Dragged home a bomb shell of a mower the other day. It’s identical to yours but Toro FWD self propelled. I thought she bought a Frakenmower. I’ve never seen Honda’s on Toro’s unless it was the SR4!

Not every thing we work on has to test our tools and skills!

Happy Wednesday! 🤙🏻🦅🇺🇸🔧

It's nice when you get the odd easy one to do, usually not like that. Thanks Bruce

I had one of those with a Kohler engine, that deck on that lawn boy is really shallow and was unable to recover in grass that would only go an extra day or two in the summer. It sold quickly though, so evidently people like them. Good Vid

How's she goin'? Easy-peasy eh!!! A good tune-up plan you have!!! An engine needs fuel, air and a spark, and you checked all 3!!! Stick a fork in that one Charlie, it's done!!! LOL Thanks for sharing and take care!!!

Nice tune up Bruce. I think in the US Toro killed off the Lawn Boy brand a few years back. Cool to see a newer one in Canada!

I got a question when replacing a ignition coil does the replacement coil have to be exactly like the old coil or do the holes for the screws just have to fit the mower?

Hey Bruce, those pumps are to much hassle. My son bought the one your using on oil. It's fine for his fancy BMW, but for mowers I found it to be a pain fir thw amount if oil. I still just warm up then dump in a pan... Just a thought. Great video once again, your old subscriber.

As many know, Toro bought the Lawnboy name many years ago & has marketed the LB's as entry level. Thus, that is a basic Toro painted green. It is lower end, for one thing, because the red Toro brand does not make a push mower like that one.Notice, however, that blade adapter is the exact same part as on the higher end Toro's. This is not to say the LB is not a decent mower. after all it has a Honda engine, but it is differentiated from the red units because of the lack of features. And yes, the older LB's 2 and 4 strokes were terrific.

Had the same mower given to me. Had the kohler engine. It had green gas cleaned carb and got it running good. Mowed grass for about an hour then cleaned it up to sale and then the coil went on it. Thing looked brand new.

Any small engine mechanics willing to video chat with me?
I'm trying to repair a 6.75 hp 190cc yard machines by mtd lawn mower and I'm having a hard time understanding the break system.

The control cable snapped but before I get a new one I'm trying to understand how it pushes the control lever rather than pull it like it newer machines.
I tried demoing It with copper cable put it won't push the lever when I push the brake handle down.

Any help would be appreciated.

How do you like that oil extractor?
I’ve been looking at them online, but haven’t decided which one to get yet.
