Using an Arduino with Python LESSON 15: Model of Bouncing Marble in 3D Room

In this video we show how to model a bouncing ball in a 3D room. We use this as an example of parametric design. In this class, we will be using an Elegoo Super Starter Kit, available below (affiliate link):

With this kit, we will will both be working on the same hardware which will make your life and my life easier.

Hello, Paul. I started learning from your videos about a year and half ago. I just want to thank you for sharing your knowledge. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have found my passion for electronics and software. Because of your teachings I’ve been able to start a career as an embedded software engineer and I couldn’t be happier.

I am sure you have inspired many others as well. You are doing God’s work. Thank you!

Thanks Paul! I must confess I folded like an IKEA not so cheap lawn chair(no Walmart here). However, I understand the parametric model as you explain it. I had to deconstruct the previous program and experiment with the parameters. No quitting here!!!

Can I have another guess? Use the joystick to change the ball size, change the ball colour, change the room size, change the wall thickness, change me to a programmer... oh forget the last one I doubt I'll live long enough! Still I'm having a blast all the same. Great content as always Paul. Thank you.

Great lesson. I added the following statements to get a bigger presentation of the room on my computer: scene.width=1000 and scene.height=600

Great Lesson. I love seeing the shots of the Nile in the background. I think the joystick will come into play for the incremental change of marble position.

Thanks once more Paul. Your studio looks a lot neater than mine!!

Yes, I am a legend. Looking forward to the next lectures even though I am 2 years late. You could use a pot to control the speed or a joystick to control a "bat" to hit the ball.

Mr. Paul, you could always 3D print some segments of a chase or cable tray to cover your cables going from device to device, either on the top of your desk, or tucked behind and hanging off the back of your devices. Then they would be either hidden inside the chase, or completely out of your way, nestled in the cable tray.

Some ideas about where we go next... I think I saw a small joystick, so I am wondering if we are going to control the ball, like avoiding obstacles, or maybe control a bat to block the ball and stop it hitting a wall???

Hello Paul, great video, as always. I've been getting into 3d printing and would love to see more fusion 360 videos, when do you think you will make a new series on that? Thanks.
