Now your first glance, it does look like a normal ladder rack but this one has a lot more features than your standard ladder racks have. For example, you have it being adjustable up and down and just loosen these screws and you can move this up and down to whatever height you want. So if you want it high up, you're taking a load that's going over the top of your bed. Let's say you've got some long boards or your kayaks you can put up here too and hold them. They're going to go a little bit over there, over the cab of your truck or if you don't want to do that you can lower them all the way down. If you're just doing an overlaying style and just using your bed space you can drop it down that way there's no clearance issues with your garage or anything like that, you're not stuck with a specific size.
It even has the measurements on the inside so you don't have to worry about having your own tape measure trying to figure out, going back and forth how you want it. You can just take a quick glance like, "Oh, okay. I'm going to set this one. I'm going to set that one." Tie them back down, you're good. You have the tie-down points here, built in.
They're nice and thick you don't have to worry about them breaking over time, being a small loop they're not going anywhere. You don't have to go all the way to the bottom of the bed to a tie down point here, to tie something down to get it nice and secure.Actually you can tie it here, use more rope around whatever you're tying down and get it nice and tight. You're going to get two different Allen keys with the OverHaul. The smaller one works with the side that you can lock. You'll see me tighten in that bar and that's what holds the ladder rack to the bed of your truck.
Unlike other ones where it's just clamped straight to this foot, this one sits in its base. So I'll loosen it again to show you how that side pops out and now you can remove it from your truck. I'm going to go to the other side and use our other hex head Allen key to loosen it over here and that would probably be the only complaint I do have about this ladder rack, is that you have these two different size tools. It's not a big deal it's just you're going to have to keep track of both of them, you can't use the same one on both sides. This one works on the non locking side and the smaller one works on the locking side. Not a big deal. If that's my only complaint, they're doing pretty good. You lift it up and out and that's as easy as it is to take it off your truck. You can see these clamps and how they attach, you're going to drop a bolt down through this part in one of the two slots and there's a spacer in there and you got this nice thick clamp that goes up and puts pressure on the top of your bed rail here and I'm really impressed with the clamps. Usually they're not this thick, this thing looks super heavy duty, the bolt super heavy duty. So I have no worries about it staying attached to my truck at all times. Usually they don't have this much thickness and the rubberized top helps when it pushes up against the bed, it's not going to damage anything in there when you tighten it down. Because, you're going to tighten it down and make sure that thing is snug. Now since I removed the clamp, I'll show you how to re-install it real quick. We've got our bolt through our spacer. We'll drop it down here in the slot and did the same thing up here. Fits in there, it keeps it in there, then we'll our clamp. The rubberized side goes up and pushes up against the bed rail and then you just throw in a bolt. You want to make sure there's nothing poking out on the bedrail though, you want a nice flat grip on it when you're going to tighten down that clamp. When you're ready to put your ladder right back on, you just drive it back into the base. I really like that because it's simple to line it up, you don't have to kind of jump back and forth and make sure it's resting on the bed rails where like, "I'm going to go adjust this side, but hopefully this side doesn't
