An operator is a symbol that specifies the mathematical. logical or relational operation to be performed. Operators are used to perform specific type of operations on one or more operand. Operands along with operators is called an Expression.

Operators in C Language are broadly classified into following 5 categories :-

i) Arithmetical

ii) Relational

iii) Logical

iv) Bit-wise

v) Assignment

Arithmetical Operators are further classified into binary, unary and ternary.

Relational operator includes equals, not equal, greater than, less than, greater than equal to & less than equal to.

Logical operator includes AND, OR, NOT

Bit-wise includes AND, OR, NOT, EX-OR, Left Shift and Right Shift

Assignment operators are further classified into Expression, Compound and Simple.
