Taking my first drive in my new 2024 Mustang GT with the 10R80 automatic transmission definitely left me confused as to why it's better!? #mustang

Man I *PRAY* tuning will be unlocked *THIS YEAR* because I really do think these 10R80 S650's are going to *MOVE OUT* with FBO & E85!! The 10R80 in this 2024 just feels waaay more responsive and "tighter". I'm really curious to see what happens going forward but none the less, i'm excited to make Apex sweet!! Derek, go into software updates and turn on reoccurring update schedules on. This will allow for your non driving updates which I believe will get you the Classic 67-68 gauge cluster!

Derek I was invited last summer to a seminar, (invitation only) by Ford Engineers who developed the S650 and I learned that Ford made changes to the S550 by >113 areas of the car. They enhanced both transmissions (10R80 + MT-82). They wanted to speed up the shifts to encourage drivers to actually use the paddles like in most other Sports Cars. I feel like they accomplished that. I have about 3K miles in the GT and Dark Horse and in sport mode & track mode the 10R80 shifts quick enough to use (S) on the transmission on the track as opposed to Auto/D. Overall the S650 drives better than the S550. So thank you Ford Engineers!!!

I am seriously stoked about this s650 series. Was not a fan of them when they dropped.. just looked weird to me.. but they've grown on me for sure. Make that thing SCREAM!!!!

Curious to know what the cost difference winds up being between starting with the base vs starting with the GT premium Performance package, magnaride, and all the other stuff you can get without going up to the darkhorse. The price tag difference as of 2 days ago to order from a dealer was around $25k give or take.

You're definitely right about the 10r by the sound of it they definitely improved the new one. You're also right w chevys 10L90 there's shifts almost like a DCT especially Danny's zl1

I got a 2020 Ford fuggin ranger but I don't like the manual shifting I just put it in sport and let the 10r80 do it's thing 😁

I've never driven a 10r80 but my 2017 6r80 shifts quick like that with the paddles. I had no idea that the gen 3 10r80 paddles were that bad. I love shifting with the paddles though. You kind of get best of both worlds.
