KittyCorgi and kopite tweeted about the doubled floating point a couple months back. Kitty even successfully guessed how they pulled it off with the whole either 2x FP32 or FP32 and INT. The thing was, it seemed so absurd at the time that nobody took it seriously. Kopite basically know as much as the AIBs he said the 3080 would be 4352 CUDA 10GB VRAM in early June. Just didn't believe the doubled FP32 and then decide that counted as doubling the CUDA core count. In my opinion the leaks were pretty spot on. Basically all the correct info was out there it was just a matter of putting it all together.

Excellent analysis! AMD are, for now i think, going after the thin and light laptop segment with their insanely good 4800U. This means you no longer need the MX NVidia chips (they are slower). This will be a huge deal as laptops bring in a huge amount of money.

That doubling of the cuda cores sounds more like the shared FPU cores that AMD got sued over back when they called 2 cores sharing an FPU 2 cores. Are Nvidia Fanbois about to get a little discount? I think AMD paid out $12 million.

I was not that impressed with the background software. Even MS teams does that. Quality is a bit lower but it runs on a dual core laptop without a problem. No expensive RTX card needed.
