Hi, from Kyiv. The reality is little bit different. The numbers of hits and lounched drones are correct, but the lounched drones now has less then half of shaheds and other just a bait drones that sumulate the shahed signature. Those bait drones are chip ones and don't have explosives. Usually those drones are "lost" somewhere when they ran out of fuel if they haven't been hit and beeing jammed by radio defense.

Develop a cheap listenig device and spread lots of them around the target area. You can hear when the drones are coming. The lower they fly the louder they drone. Radars take care of the high flyin ones.

"We've seen that typically the Ukrainians score about 90% hit rate" - no you have been told about a 90% hit rate, there is a huge difference between seeing something vs it being alleged.

Ukraine needs an updated version of the German Gepard anti-aircraft vehicle. Maybe the United States needs something like that as well.

This video is a good follow-up to your last one about how the US military is having a hard time preventing drones from flying over their bases.
Drone tactic and capabilities are changing and expanding rapidly. We can't wait until we get intoban actual conflict with an adversary with an effective drone force to start developing our own doctrines.

Seems like we need to bring back BOFORS 40mm anti-aircraft guns.

it is strange to see both sides evolving their tactic in some areas but at the same time ignoring and even getting worse in other areas.

Paul is actually dismissing the data about comparable numbers of those Shahed drones being recently reported to have been taken down by EW.

Ukraine should be getting the new Rheinmetall anti-air at a larger scale now that they have a plant there. It will probably help in a more cost-effective way.

They are machine learning the flight paths

Russia : We have more dangerous drones ! Ukraine : We have more dangerous debris 😂

Great coverage. Our unwillingness to allow Ukraine to fully engage offensively has allowed Russia to recover and adapt iteratively-Europe will go nuclear country by country as it learns from this and the lesson will not be lost on other small nations.

guys, I have been building RC planes since childhoods using my pocket money to buy basic
things, so if today 6 axis stabilised drone with fully autonomous fly as toy cost about 250 USD, 1kg hi explosive charge about the same in manufacturing terms, even 2000 USD is astronomicaly profitable .

What about a simple balloon/string net like counter to drones?

Might not be so "shithead" if they can increase their effectiveness by 500%! 😳👀

Flying low means you are much easier to strike civilian targets on your way towards actual ones, if they even exist in the first place.
Which means - russians dropped any pretense of using Shaheds for any military targets overall. Each strike is aiming towards civilians, without any doubt.

Which means - the rat is up the wall, it smells the end. And enemy's desperation gives us additional hope.

This tactic is about numbers. If someone has enough drones, and the contact line is large, feints can happen at any location.
There was talk awhile ago about Ukraine getting anti-air laser systems. Never heard anymore about them. Did they ever arrive? Did they not work?

Call me an idiot, but I've never been happy how NATO prosecuted this war since 2014; in fact, I'm embarrassed as an American.
