Показать описание
Pando, also known as The Trembling Giant, is a colony of genetically identical quaking aspens (Populus Tremuloides) in Utah that all share the same massive root system. The colony weighs nearly 13 million pounds, is composed of over 40,000 trees, and is estimated to have started at the end of the last ice age. The clone is at risk of extinction due to lack of regeneration, insects, and disease.

Utah has some of the world's worst pollution. Wonder if that's what is causing the world's largest organism to fail to regenerate.
