Man, I really miss Nathan on All About the Bass. His humor, witty banter, and phenomenal bass chops were a perfect fit.

Lee reminds me of that one school teacher you had that you actually liked.

That bass looks sick. You guys should do a Sounds Like with basses too. Cheers

"Q" on a parametric EQ oddly enough is the abbreviation of 'Quality Factor". This is now just called Q or Bandwidth, basically how wide or narrow the filter is on the EQ. The EQ on this amp is Semi Parametric, it allows you to pick the frequency you're boosting or cutting but has a non adjustable Q/bandwidth. A fully Parametric EQ would allow you to adjust the bandwidth of the filter as well.

I hereby make a formal request that the Tech 21 SansAmp bass driver make an appearance in the somewhat not too distant future.

Also nathan is a beast

Lee, Q-factor is the bandwidth around a center frequency that still gets affected. A high Q-factor means a lot of other frequencies are also affected by the EQ, low Q-factor makes the frequency-band more narrow.

Power dissipation also occurs regularly in speaker coils. Easy to see why it seems quieter as time goes on. Power amp, speaker coil and our ears all have an effect.

How about a Rickenbacker bass video? And at some point I'd love to see the Jaguar/Mustang basses.

Thank you for this review, it has a great help on my purchase decision. It should be arriving in the next couple of days! Thank you again, I appreciate it.

"Q" when using an EQ stands for 'Quality'. (It has nothing to do with how good the EQ is!), it refers to the amount of nearby frequencies are affected by the boost/cut

After several listenings, I came to the conclusion that the Orange(AB final amp) was tighter and better defined than the Class D TC amp. It's consistent with the behavior of my Trace Elliot(AH600-12) with class AB SS power amp, where MarkBass and GK class D amps that I've played through seem looser in controlling the drivers, both headphone and speakers.

I have the Orange Bass Terror 500W. Class D. Sounds unbelievable. ..Orange was crazy for discontinuing it...

Never took to Orange bass amps. The ones I've played all sounded a bit cheap to me. much prefer Ashdowns, Fenders and love the TC Electric ones.

I have my computer hooked up to a Bose system and think my whole house just measured on the Richter Scale. Good stuff guys!!

Great vid! Just some advice: That mic is great for lows but mids and highs are muffled. Try that Akg and a 57 so you can hear the body/feel more. Ooer.

Hey Lee, does Nathan have his own YouTube Channel etc!!

RMS=Root Mean Square. I think it's the average of the power under the curve, which is usually the natural logarithm of 2 (which roughly 0.693) of the peak. This only applies to alternating currents' voltage when concerning amplifiers. To find power based on RMS AC Voltage, multiply it by the current, or square it and divide by the impedance.

I prefer the sound of the Orange. Tc sounds a little too muffled. Maybe just the way the EQ was set. O-Bass looks killer!
