A manned mission to Mars will essentially be a one-way ticket! It's not like going to the Moon, the distance is far greater. Machines of all kinds can be sent to Mars without much worry. A manned vehicle will require life support for an extended period of time. Even if successfully landing on Mars the atmosphere is 95% Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen is 0.13%, a trace element. The surface atmospheric pressure is equivalent to Earth at around 135, 000ft.

Tall buildings erected on alluvial soil topple over during earthquakes due to phenomena called soil liquification. One just wonders how many artificial earthquakes (launches and static fire tests) will it take before alluvial soil (with very high ground water level) laying below OLM and launch tower liquifies toppling over both structures. What we have seen during last test launch was accelerated pile driving (whole OLM hammered into soil below). After last modification (introduction of raft and pile structure) we will see not pile driving as before but accelerated soil compaction causing soil liquification. I just cannot wait to see this action.
