3 officials from Manchester officiating a game like this between Liverpool and Man City. Why is this allowed? Thought?

"7-2 against Aston Villa was an end to an era" Really!? Didn't they go on to push City again in the seasons after COVID? Let's be honest, Liverpool were horrid the entire time that there were no spectators from memory losing 6 games in a row at home. They were also champions for one season that interrupted an incredible Man City reign the last 10 seasons. Then you reference Man Utd but follow up by saying they won the title in that season. What kind of logic is this?!?

The orthodoxy is what’s being challenged here…
Salah is a teetotaller, who doesn’t treat his body like a fun park…
He could play at this level until he’s 50…
Goal after goal, he rips his shirt off, and his six pack says “I’m nowhere near done”…

This is a market correction for Man City. They're in uncharted waters in terms of success, the path to stay consistent isn't always clear.

You can tell why some of these guys are writers. Stumbling over their words and taking ages to get to the point and just say what they are trying to say. What a painful listen, can barely make it 15 minutes in without getting annoyed

City’s struggles equals Karma for the rest of the Premier League….. 115…..

This was a tough watch. Not much chemistry amongst the three. Doesn't sound like colleagues discussing, the hierarchy seem apparent. The Athletic's podcasts and articles are worlds apart in terms of quality.

Wasn’t Thiago Silva in the league a few years ago best CB at 34-35

The British don’t understand what Slot ball, total football 4.0, is and the analysis of the Southampton match proves it . Based on Johan Cruyff’s logic and nr 1 rule that you can’t score if you don’t have the ball, it’a all about having possession, they controlled the match from the first to the last minute and when you have possession and dominate you have the biggest chance of winning. The 2 Southampton goals were the only half chances they had and it all went their way, that’s what in Arne’s and the total football dictionary is called scoreboard journalism (that comes from van Gaal). But in total football the Southampton match was a good match, fully in control, 2 unlucky goals behind, front row not optimal in form that match and still win because of the constant possession and pressure tactics.

Rodri and Dias are huge misses not just on the pitch but also in terms of leadership and mentality

City's team is old. And their squad - despite conventional wisdom - is small. It's very deep, as in they have 16/17 players of interchangeable quality, but it's small. Bringing Gundogan back was a sign

"It has never happened in the CL that a team has been 3-0 up and don't win the game"? Really? May I draw your attention to 2005 final in Istanbul?!

I'm a Chelsea fan, but I've always admired Hojlund and never doubted his potential. And when he does score, his goals just give off a certain ruthlessness to me, which I find exciting

Re. Foden. He's a great player, but he didn't deserve the player of the year award last season. Palmer and Watkins both had better seasons than him. He won purely because City won the league. Had Chelsea or Villa won league, Watkins or Palmer would've been given the award.

The Anfield game kicks off at 4pm. Not 4:30pm!

Painful listen and viewing this one guys.. Just a bit of feedback because all the stumbling over words, monotone, frowning, middle-aged boring blokes is really not working for me...

Jarrel Quasah and Joe Gomez have played against many big opponents and won 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ why is it when a player is in form and then gets injured, that the person that takes their place suddenly isn’t good enough 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

This is what I hate about journalism

Gomez has proved he can play LB, RB and CB and be consistent and match anyone, Klopp picked JQ ahead of Konate on many occasions, people don’t lose their attributes over night 🤦‍♂️

Gomez has a good record against City at CB. These guys think frowning means football knowledge.
