fun fact: Nizar's castle took the inspirational from the Nizairi Ismailiyyah's castle, which has elevated road to the castle. since he doesn't have tunnle digger like Richard, he creates spiral moat

The real enemy here is navigating your troops to dig where you want them to. Their pathfinding usually breaks resulting in your units walking through dozens of killing pits.

His spiral moat is sometimes annoying, especially when the moat-filling troops' pathfinding algorism glitches. It would easily send your army to the well-guraded side and elimated by his ranged units.

I think it's a bug but what can completely shutdown Nizar is having two rows of battlements on the walls instead of one. Somehow Assassins can't really climb them.

Pikeman seams to be Chad unit here, can dig and are extremely durable

Yeah...i remember...when I first played against this guy...i was thinking how lame is this AI and not sending single unit...after that... Assassin were all over my castle from all sides...( Since i always preferred enclosed castles ) ...And within minutes they killed my lord...

Another good idea to defend against Nizar‘s assassins when you are on hill is doing double crenelation near our walls. Assassins are unable to climb that, but we must place some units on gates which will eventually take down some guys who will be able to going to our castle in that way. I remember that in some crusader missions against Nizar places us on hills, so moat then isn‘t so helpful.

Hes one of the lords that is super strong, but pretty easy if you know how to play against him

Interestingly, since Nizar makes only assassins and slaves to attack, it'd be interesting to make a walled off castle without a moat and fill its walls with swordsmen or monks. No need for ranged units. That'd be a first...
