.
Yeast-Vite was offered in glass bottles in the 1920s, and sold as a pick-me-up/. It was Brewer's yeast, with Vitabmn B compounds, and added caffeine and a pain killer. It was often advertised as a way for women to get that last push to finish their housework before hubby came home! It is still sold today.
The swallow was often used on Victorian brooches to represent safety for sailors at sea, or just a general "come home safely" from your travels.
And Si, we NEVER get bored with your metal detecting finds!

Waving hello from Oakland California. Your brooch is definitely Victorian. It’s absolutely iconic! Swallows represented a safe return, since they migrate and return to the same nesting location.

Hi Simon! Lots of good finds for both your friend Chris and yourself. My favorite is, of course, that beautiful brooch with the swallows! I think you're right and it's Victorian. It's truly lovely!

Looks like you had fun and hope you're home and having a nice sleep now! 😴

What a great couple of days digging. Never had sooo many finds at a Detectival. Watch this space as me Si and Kris Addicted Bleeps are heading on an epic adventure 😮😊

It’s windy, but the view is spectacular.

Your intro reminded me of my times from a bluegrass festival I used to frequent about 30 years ago in the Berkshires here in the U.S. Often there was way too much beer, too much wind and too little sleep! I miss detecting. One day I will try to get back into it. I still have my little White’s Beachcomber that I’ve had since I was spending a lot of time detecting back in my teen years in the early 1980s. Not much old stuff here. I did find a paper thin and worn George copper from the 1760s once though. Landowner didn’t let me keep it sadly. 😢 I have the memory anyway. Good stuff. Huge new fan! Keep posting!

That brooch is amazing! If it's sturdy enough, it might be a good candidate for making a mold of and making either a silver of even resin copy. And loved seeing that kite flying!

Oh I hope you get that brooch repaired and show us! You could maybe have it electroplated gold, idk? Just nice finds.
