I’m so pleased you don’t provide Amazon links! Yes, our LYSs and indie bookstores need our love❤. I am also so glad you emphasize all the work designers put into each pattern. Whenever someone asks whether they can have a copy of something I have knit, if it is free I say “Sure”. But if it’s a paid-for pattern, I explain WHY I can’t do that…that if I provide people with free copies, then I’m depriving the designer of income. Thanks so much for defending copyright!

I loved this. I just found your channel, and it's lovely. Thank you for the time. I have an 8 year old boy and he's challenging at times, but I'm sure I'll feel as you do when he's ready for college. All the best, Kimberly

I have the Arctic Knit book, it’s so lovely that even non-knitter enjoy flipping through it when I leave it on my coffee table. Also, I took A Knitter’s Year out of the library and knit my youngest son a little zipper sweater.

Hi Kirsten, I just wanted to add that Emily Foden is actually Canadian and lives in Mooresburg Ontario. She is a knitwear designer and yarn dyer. Her wool company was called Viola, and was widely sought after. The book does have accessories, but also many garments. This book is an ode to Canadian winters, and the experience of rural winter living..❤

I love your podcast! I did buy a book and have one on. wish list, for when I can afford it. At 73 yrs, I'm back on a budget. Projects were amazing and so was the cookbook review and recommendations. So, sweet of you... can't wait to see more!!

I hear you about how much knitting helps your emotional, mental, and even physical health. I find my self getting jittery if I haven’t knit in a few days. What a wonderful thing to be able to turn to!

I totally understand sending your first child off to college. I cried halfway home from Duluth after dropping our daughter off. I live in the Twin Cities area and am looking forward to visiting Dandelion Fiber Company! It looks like a lovely shop and you carry Susie’s yarn!!

Hey Kristen. Yep, hurting heart from our children leaving. Had youngest 23yo come home for weekend and still, on his leaving - aching heart. Knitting helps yes. Such an odd thing - all those years spent with those beautiful souls and then they fly away. Some of us more affected than others I see. Loved your podcast book review thanks. Some gorgeous patterns in them alright. 🥰

I got such a laugh from your teacher story. I was a teacher of littles for many years and one year I had a little girl who liked to lick too. I couldn’t believe the words, “let’s not lick the floor” came out of my mouth one morning! Yes! Such laughter comes from teacher children! Have a great school year!
