That was weird, one huge rock in the middle of a field of flowers! The wind!! Like the accompanying music for this stretch.

Great epiphany Jason. The plant you saw with yellow flowers and fuzzy type leaves is called Mullien

Probably my favorite video of yours. Thank you for sharing your genuine thoughts, emotions, and frustrations. It's so helpful for others to see the human side of such a challenging trip, so this vid was pretty impactful for me. Hope you're killing it in future land.

Hi Jason I believe the trail finally hollared loud enough for you to listen. You figured out what you needed to do. Enjoy stay safe and listen to the trail. Take care.

I think because you are such a planner that the real lesson is to learn to adapt. Love watching your journey.

That trekking pole looks like a divining rod, Jason...
Snow is a lot easier to hike theough than sand....which will wear out your calves in a hurry! And be glad it isn't 100° out there.

Loved that montage around the 14 minute mark. Great music choice, too. I just had some Kickin' Chicken Hot Wings myself a few days ago as I was doing my second Gerard Trail thru hike.

That may be the best Video for others thinking about the challenge of a Thru Hike than any thing I have seen. You mentioned the “Embrace the Suck” mantra previously. However, before you can embrace anything, you must first acknowledge and respect it, instead of competing against it. Your statement that you learned the most, when you started “Listening to the Trail”, is very impactful! I always said that, “If you compete against the Trail, it will always beat you down and Win”! Instead, a Hiker must “Flow with the Trail and it will provide” your needs and teach you lessons that are probably more important off Trail than on, Thanks for this Video. It’s getting to the heart of a Thru Hike! I agree with your approval of Leki as well! All poles break, but Leki stands behind their warranty, repair and replacement to serve their customer, True customer service! Finally, my biggest challenge as been to remain the Changed person (that you are demonstrating right now on trail) off trail, when “The speed of Life” increases compared to the hiking pace on the Trail”. But that is a post hike discussion after you have finished your PCT Experience! Thanks for Vlogging!

Just as you did on the AT, you'll find your way. On a side note, we hiked part of the Lost Turkey Trail in Blue Knob SP (a little bit of home for you), we did an 8 mile loop, hot and humid, tons of elevation, told my hubby (we're both 63), next time I mention through hiking the AT, remind me of today, LOL.

Life will teach you patience if you listen. If not it puts snow in your path. Love to hear your raw emotions and thoughts. Hike on!

Jason, you just lightened your trekking pole by around an ounce and it's still usable. Take the W!

I always look forward to seeing your posts. It’s gives a real sense of perspective to how long it takes to hike a through hike. Good work.

I’ve been following on IG . Clicked on this vid for the epiphany. Glad you figured it out just before the end of most of the snow 😂. It does take patience and perspective. Look at the big picture. You are doing it 👍. Good trail ahead - Enjoy

Patience - my Mom had a definition of this. Learning to idle the engine when you feel like stripping the gears. Being on a time limit doesn't help - enjoy the moment and surroundings. Finish / don't finish doesn't matter. The trail isn't going anywhere - except what/where you are. Love your videos. Your doing something most can't. Is finishing more important than living in moment? Hope you don't think this is negative - you rock. Happy hiking - and I do mean HAPPY HIKING

I knew that pole was done for when you held it up. I love Leki poles as well and have two sets of them. Hike was fun to watch and stay safe out there.

What another beautiful video, Jason! Say Hi to Bigfoot, and my heartfelt expression to the gentleman who couldn't make it, and perhaps he'll try again someday. You all please be careful out there in those passes, and on that snow and I'll continue to pray for your all's safety on the trail. God bless you.
