Steven Wilson is one of those musicians, that if you're lucky enough to find, you'll continue to be dazzled by his unique, and emotionally-riveting compositions. He is an absolute musical genius, and I'm without a doubt, sure he sets the bar for ingenuity for many musicians in the industry today. This album, and many others, for me exceed genre and category, and are simply unbridled and true.

One of the saddest songs I've ever heard. A friend played it for me a few days ago and it broke me down. The progression, the building up, then as it comes back down again, it's such a rollercoaster of emotional ride. It's really astonishing piece of work.

58, 000 views is sad. Why doesn't this have at least 20 million. Or any of his work. I mean, Time Flies and Way Out of Here are the most viewed songs of Steven Wilson's work, and they aren't 2 million views. WTF world?

We need a Lyric!

Oh fuck...The lyric:

What do I do with all the children's clothes
Such tiny things that still smell of them
And the footprints in the hallway
Onto my knees scrub them away

And how to be of use make the tea and the soup
All of their favorites throw them away
And all their schoolbooks and the running shoes
Washing and cleaning the dirty steel sink

Routine keeps me in line
Helps me pass the time
Concentrate my mind
Helps me to sleep

And keep making beds and keep the cat fed
Open the Windows let the air in
And keep the house clean and keep the routine
Paintings they make still stuck to the fridge

Keep cleaning keep ironing
Cooking their meals on the stainless steel hob
Keep washing keep scrubbing
Long until the dark comes to bruise the sky
Deep in the debt to night

Routine keeps me in line
Helps me pass the time
Helps me to sleep

Routine keeps me in line
Helps me pass the time
Helps me to sleep

The most beautiful morning forever
Like the ones from far off, far off away
With the hum of the bees in the jasmine sway

Don't ever let go
Try to let go
Don't ever let go
Try to let go
Don't ever...

I get 'Host of Seraphim' vibes from this track, specifically in the 'Routine keeps me alive' part. Anyone else?

Animals (Pigs on the Wing) meets Dire Straits in the solo riff. Cool!

two female voices on the record. First,  the voice of the British actress who relates the story on "Perfect Life, " and then that wonderful Israeli singer, Ninet Tayeb. She was recommended by Blackfield colleague Aviv Geffen. "We've had a partnership and made a few records together". That was one of three singers actually that auditioned for that particular song which is the key song that the female voice sings. Hers was the voice that literally blew me away. I think I was looking for something specific, and I guess I was looking for my Kate Bush or my Björk -- I didn't want such a generic female voice. I wanted someone who had more of a quirky, powerful quality to her voice, almost have control, and Ninet definitely had that so when I heard her voice I knew she was the one.
