The narrator said the comet formed approximately 40, 000 light years away in the Oort cloud. The Oort cloud only extends three light years or 29 trillion km from the sun. Most comets originate from about 44, 000 astronomical units from our sun. That is approximately 1/2 light year. Yep.

I saw Haleys Comet when I was a child back in the 1960s. It was beautiful with a long glowing tail.

The narration gives the location of the Oort Cloud as being some 40, 000 light years from the sun. This is incorrect. The Oort Cloud (according to Wikipedia): "a cloud of predominantly  icy planetesimals proposed to surround the Sun at distances ranging from 2, 000 to 200, 000 au (0.03 to 3.2 light-years).

The Oort Cloud is gravitationally bound to our solar system. Anything located 40, 000 light years from the sun is *not* gravitationally bound to our solar system. That distance is nearly half the width of the Milky Way galaxy!
