The way people have completely contorted the narrative of this video is honestly embarrassing. No where did I say I was poor, I was highlighting the common belief those who own horses pay for their horses from an excess/excessive level of wealth (think Veruca from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory). I am a middle class 25 year old girl who works 7 days a week making a career in horses to fund my sport (I also buy horses at the end of the road with no where else to go and train them up myself). I have been breaking in horses since I was 18 and have worked my ass off to create a successful business, however the strain of my horses financially is still very relevant, this is something many of us face and was a relatable video to THOSE. For those of you looking to make snide remarks and comments that’s fine but it’s purely a reflection of what you wanted to make of a video to fit your narrative.

If you're spending all your money on horses, but don't own a house, don't have a nice car, can't go on vacation, that's a choice. You're still wealthy. You just choose to spend your money on horses.

I don't have nice food. I have a 18 year old car that is barley hanging on. I don't have a house, I have a realy small flat in a dirty, ruff neighborhood. I can't afford a vacation. I work 48 hours the week in a heavy body working job. But I also can't afford a horse. 😂

I think people often mistake “not rich” with poor, because yeah, you’re not rich, but you’re definitely not poor. If a “not rich” person were to have a serious financial issue, they would have to get rid of their luxuries, such as a nice car, or a vacation, or in your case, horses. If a poor person had a serious financial issue they would be homeless. Be grateful that you have the luxuries you do, a lot of us don’t have them

"Im rich but spend it all on horses" is basically the point

It's actually really important to have $1k-$5k in your bank account at all times when owning horses, even just one. Accidents happen and vet bills are very expensive.

I disagree.

As someone who had ridden horses since childhood you definitely have to have money, unless you’re neglecting your horses. I had to give it up because my family fell on hard financial times where we had a hard time paying for food let alone a horse.

Money is not represented by what you don’t have but what you spend it on

This does not come accross as relatable. Its giving out of touch.

Owning horses is a luxury, not a sign of poverty. If you can afford them, you are wealthy.

No one is forcing anyone to own horses. Its a luxury to even have the option to rough it with horses.
Most dont even have the option to CHOOSE a dog over disposable income. Let alone multiple horses.
You ARE wealthy, you just chose to spend your money on things that dont directly affect your standard of living. And thats ok.
But pls dont try to debunk your financial status by pretending others can't care for the horses you buy.

I spend money on what makes me feel good. Animals are directly helping my mental health. They are the reason I get up in the morning. ❤️ Insurance is expensive, but they are worth it.

Horses aren’t hobbies. They take a lot of energy and finances, but are totally worth it.

"Rich" is being able to afford to properly care for horses. They take a lot of time, land and expensive care. Having the option to spend that money is to have more money than than an average person.

I like when wealthy people explain how theyre not technically wealthy. Actually, Jessica, most poor people arent poor with horses... Theyre just regular poor. 😂

Yeahhh, but you still need a certain level of privilege to even think they're an option. Lessons are EXPENSIVE and theres only so many positions available to try and work at the barn for free lessons. Then theres being able to afford buying the horse, the land/boarding place, the feed, the equipment, the vet bills, the water, etc. Even if theyre draining your account, you still need enough revenue coming in to keep the horse, and that means youre richer than most. If anything, this is just showing that youre living outside your means

I see the humor in the video, but some of these comments are....out of touch....

If you got to really rich towns, all the kids are like this. “I’m not rich, I only have a small mansion😂”
