I knew a technician who works on super cars. He’d joke about how the oil changes cost so much but it’s literally just an ordinary oil change with an extra cover over the oil filter

Maybe the parts are expensive because the shops insurance doesn’t like the fact they have a $2m car on a lift somewhere?

From what I have heard about the Bugatti tire replacement is that if you go all out or over 250MPH you will have to replace both the tires and wheels, which is why they cost about $40k to replace. Also, a Bugatti Veyron can only drive at it's limit for about 10 minutes before it runs out of gas. Overall, it's still a special car that require a very wealthy person to maintain.

Sadly a lot of this is due to insurance and not actual cost. OIl and a filter change won't run you $3, 000 to $4, 000 in real life if you have a lift at your house and you can do it for less than $150, But to insure a person that might drop a $3, 000, 000 vehicle off a lift from not setting the jack locations correctly is the main cost issue.

This is why I love tuner cars. You can maintain them yourself, make them as fast as you want, and spend as much or as little as you want to put into them.

At top speed you get approx 15 min on the tires

Holy smokes even if I had the money I would not buy something that ridiculously expensive to maintain. It’s just unnecessary and uncalled for.

I change my own oil on my Toyota, oil and filter about $25 buckaroos. Eat your heart out Bugatti

All these rich people things like super cars, mansions and yachts the initial cost hits hard but then there's all the maintenace that goes with them, the cars require special parts and specialized technicians, the mansions require a large staff just to keep them clean, etc.

Houston Crosta has done a very good job making bugatti parts, tire changes & oil changes much less expensive than they used to be... they still have to glue the tire to the rim so its capable of reaching that 256 mph top speed... But the chiron is much more "affordable" to maintain ownership wise.

The price is high because the umbrella policy for 10M worth of cars in the parking lot is $9k a month. We often have to schedule further out if the 40 parking spots are getting up there in value.
