Why would you suggest he pay down a 3% student loan instead of invest that money and earn 7 to 12% on any basic ETF fund?

Would love to know what you would suggest after a 401K is makes out, as well as a back door Roth conversion and hsa before the end of a calendar year. Not staying this is the case for me but after that where do you point someone next.

I hate the fact that I’ll be taxed at ordinary income tax rate on my traditional IRA. I don’t qualify for Roth IRA. I’m actually thinking about not investing in a traditional IRA any longer (leave what I have in there till I retire) and begin invest in an equity account so that I can be taxed at long-term capital gain tax.
