How to Transform Grocery Store Roses

How to create beautiful blooms almost instantly. Have you ever wanted a full flower arrangement but all you can find are closed roses at the grocery store? I’m sharing how to take roses that would take days to open and transform them almost instantly into a beautiful DIY floral arrangement.

Step 1: Fill your vase with warm water.

Step 2: Cut the ends of the stems diagonally.

Step 3: Remove the leaves from the stems and the sepals from the base of the rose.

Step 4: Take the outer two layers of petals and gently bend them back.

Step 5: Blow into the center petals while spinning the rose in your hands. Yes, blow. There's no easy way and you look ridiculous but it opens up the middle petals.

Step 6: Repeat with all roses and arrange in the vase.

This really does work! I tried to make mine fluffier because they were so tightly closed that I ended up shaking a rose and then I broke it! I stuck a tooth pick in on one side and stick the broken flower part into it. It looks perfect 😂 Thanks for the tutorial!

Oh my gosh no!!!! Looks so unnatural. I hate that technique- so fake looking.
As a flower designer in LA - I do the spin technique and or blowing ( you have to blow much harder then she does here).
Spin technique is easy. Google it on YouTube.

I hate this! What happened to letting the rose open naturally? They look old and like they are two weeks old. Another stupid trend. Used to puff up bouquets with fewer rises but the same cost. That bouquet looks awful, all out of proportion and there is no where for the eye to rest. The eye has to travel! Basic design 101.
