"I will send you my physicians." King Baldwin IV was well known to have suffered from Leprosy. In perhaps one of the most subtle displays of nobility and understanding from Sultan Salahuddin in this movie, is offering his medical services to another. Though Baldwin is an enemy and no doubt has his own doctors to tend his needs, this simple offer I think was more than an expected courtesy, but rather as Salahuddin seeing his opponent as a true equal, thus deserving of the utmost respect. I love this movie.

"Withdraw or we will all die here".

I always liked that line. He's not being menacing or flaunting. He's only stating that thousands will die and nothing will be accomplished.

One need not be a christian to respect Baldwin, nor a Muslim to praise Salahadin. Both were great men. Salahadin was a chivalrous rules and fighter, and Baldwin wanted peace. Muslims and Christians can live together in a Kingdom of Heaven, and Conscience. If only more believed it.

Salam, and peace be with you.

I believe this display of respect between these two enemy kings is far greater than respect shown by allies.

Saladin Ayubi was one of the greatest human being in the human history. And King Richard was the lion heart of England. Both fight with each other, respect like each other, the battle with hand to hand draw.

So honorable! Sultan Salahuddin showed concern for his enemy. My understanding of the Arab leader's statement is: "I pray for your full recovery and leave this matter to me". To which King Baldwin answered 'I pray you retire unharmed.' Then the terms. And Salahuddin said: " I'll send you my physician". The Muslims are not as what the bigots taught us! They have Math, Astronomy, Ice-water in the burning desert, and the best Doctors at their time at least, who are relying on some form of proven science and were not quacks!

Bring these two back, make Baldwin president and leader of the western countries and Salahuddin president and leader of the Middle East and North African countries, and peace will reign under them. If the leaders were different they would be at each other’s throat; but these two know the value of respect and hate seeing blood baths, that’s why they talk.
May Allah grant them Paradise.

The sky and the overall atmosphere of the battle scenes in the movie is almost ethereal.

Not just two great Kings (Sultan) but an example of how great men should conduct themselves. Awesome and perfect scene of two great men.

The two armies look great, in real life though the knights would be wearing a bit less armor than in Europe due to the heat, they usually adopted the more traditional desert armor of thr semetic people as time went by, only keeping helms, shields and swords.

"Withdraw or we will all die here". Spoken plainly, matter-of-factly. Could not have cast a better Baldwin than Edward Norton.
