It's interesting how at least half of the films on this list are considered beloved Disney classics, and most of the other films are considered cult classics by many! It will be interesting to see Strange World's reputation. It could go down in history as one of Disney's worst, or grow a cult fan base overtime.

I hope that Strange World’s failure would lead to Disney going back to theatrical 2D animation.
Disney abandoned 2D after Treasure Planet’s failure, and Strange World failed harder than Treasure Planet.

Strange world i only ever saw trailers for it here on YouTube not once did i ever see a trailer for it on tv here in Canada so that probably why it tanked because there wasn’t a tv trailer for it but that’s just my thought

Treasure Planet failed because one; it was competing with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets at premiere. Two; audiences started getting wise to the home release patterns of Disney animated films and parents decided to just wait for the vhs.

And for the obligatory number 3; Pixar and Dreamworks were the hot shit at the time back when people were wow’d by 3D animation.

I don't know if it's accurate to call The Sword in the Stone a flop. Every source sites that film as a financial success, but a critical failure.
I think Winnie the Pooh should have been included in its place.
