The Rise and Rise of Chopard

Chopard is one of the oldest luxury brands still on the market having started in 1860. Though the brand has gone through hard times, mostly because of the war, their ability to find innovation and marketable products in their times of need has served the family run business through over 150 years of business. This tuesday Chopard will launch Chopard Couture, aka Caroline's couture, so I wanted to take a look back at the brand and how they came to be such a luxury staple.

As a huge fan of Chopar, I couldn't be happier that you are highlighting less-mainstream brands ♥️

I clicked faster than a Richemont acquisition.

This just shows, that though my fashion knowledge is extensive, I cannot know everything. Chopard did couture?? It’s why channels like yours are so precious.

I look forward to seeing the collection. They seem to be doing everything right leading up to it, and I don't see this as a vanity project (which is usually what these are). I especially like their commitment to transparency and sustainability. Perhaps they will move others to follow their example.

Thank you for the video. I got my first happy diamond pendant as a high school graduation gift from my parents. I am in my 50s now; the happy sparkles still shine and move around joyfully . Good luck Chopard with your haute couture début ❤😊🎉

It's a very understated, under the radar brand for a reason. And a very successful one at that. Chopard is the very definition of quiet luxury before it actually became a thing! Their roster of customers is far wealthier than what you'll find at competing brands, which are mostly based on hype & marketing that caters to the masses. Chopard is to luxury goods what Graff is to high-end jewelry. Their clientele is mainly looking for exclusivity and silent brand equity.

Thank you for posting this video about the history of Chopard in advance of the debut of their haute couture fashion line. I am impressed at the history of sustainability and their willingness to be so transparent about their supply chain. Very exciting to see what they contribute to the world of luxury fashion.

I have a topic I would love to see. I was wondering the other day what happened to all the winners of Project Runway. How many were successful after the show, and where are they now.

Oh wow, this channel is AMAZING. I'd love to see a video about the fall of Delpozo. Such a pity

I am a fan of yours! You create really interesting and meaningful videos! I am Advertising and Brand Management student and I learn a lot from your videos every time I watch them. Please make videos for other similar brands like Swarovski, Bulgari, etc. Btw some of those brands underwent rebranding, which is also an interesting topic.

I think you are probably right about chopard being the first to go from timepieces to jewellery to fashion although Messika were first to do trendy fashion shows but its about the jewellery nog the fashion -Caroline seems to be calling her Chopard fashion, Caroline's Couture although Chopard is yhe name on the runway and it's quite bland/commercial for the average person wanting to shine at Cannes. More interesting is their new stealth hotel at 1 place vendôme in paris either known by its address or as the C hotel. Probably a combination of both Chopard and Caroline. There is no signage outside and each room is linked to a precious stone and colour coded accordingly. The Ruby room being 'pigeon blood' colored emerald room being green. All in good taste but a bit predictable, mainstream and touching on cheesy as do the fashion pieces. Her jewellery is still more where her talents lie
