Everyone thinks they know the right way to hang a roll of toilet paper. But now we have a official, scientific answer as to what is right: Inc. reports that a recent study conducted at the University of Colorado, the “right” way to over because with that method you’ll only touch the toilet paper you’re personally using. The right way to hang your toilet paper is with the end going over the top. If you hang toilet paper using the under method, then there’s a good chance your hand will brush the wall, leaving your bacteria or picking up someone elses. With the over method, you can easily avoid the wall and get the paper you need.

😂 the fact that this was a real study is hilarious!! I've always done it that way though. Just makes more sense and feels right 😆 my ex did the opposite and since I'm easy going I just let it be. Now I have proof!!! I was right all along!!! 😂😂

For the last 55 years, I put the roll away from the wall facing the front as it should be and my husband put it the other way around and every time he said ” Oh Sorry!!! Is it meant to be the other way around???” 😩

I will always put up the toilet paper to go over the top but when my dad visits me he changes it the other way around and he will complain non stop for the rest of the day about the toilet paper hanging the wrong way around. Now with this video I can prove that I'm correct and he was wrong all this time.

the main issue i have with "OVER" is AW's (@$$ Wipers) almost always leave the cutoff short, they dont leave anything hanging....so you have to end up touching the whole roll to rotate it!!

A fact that most have probably not thought about is that it is a CINCH to neatly and ONE-HANDEDLY tear off the toilet paper at the perforation when the roll's edge is UNDER rather than when it is OVER. Try it both ways and see for yourselves. When the paper's edge is UNDER, you automatically place your knuckles against the bulk of the roll, thereby preventing it from spinning as you deftly tear off the precise amount you wish, whereas if the roll's edge is placed OVER, you will need to use BOTH HANDS: one to hold the bulk of the roll and the other to tear off what you need. The convenience of being able use only one hand becomes apparent when, as may often happen, at that moment your other hand may be occupied holding or doing something else. Obviously, this applies whether you are right-handed or left-handed. Note that many PUBLIC toilets install PAPER STRIP dispensers rather than rolls in order to prevent waste. There is seldom a need to wastefully unravel a huge segment of paper from a roll. The floors of public toilets are too often littered with reams of unused roll paper. As far as cleanliness is concerned, routinely sanitize the area surrounding the roll to remove potential germs. When travelling, I often keep a small roll of toilet paper in my backpack with an elastic band around it to prevent unravelling. This can come in handy for example in aircraft washrooms, where you may discover there is no paper left!

In public yes, but at home.. *under* is a bit more ‘out of the way’ lol

The fact that this has ever been a serious debate proves that humanity is doomed.

When you pull hard with 1 hand using rhe under roll method, it spins more toliet paper not giving a clean rip.

Worried about touching the walls of a restroom stall yet most door handles, sinks and hand dryers likely have the same if not more bacteria in them...

Toilet paper must always be hung in a proper overhand fashion

Yes, my cat also likes it over. And all over the floor.

Für. Fact the scientists don't tell you: you use 1/3 more toilet paper if you do it the "right" way because the wall adds tension to the paper and it breaks at 2 tissues
instead of 3.

My cousins and I debated if it's over or under. Now I'm about to send this to them & prove them wrong

If you have cats, you use the UNDER method. The cat cannot unroll your toilet paper that way. LOGIC not SCIENCE

The under method is easier to pull and snap off.. the over method you seemingly have to pull down and then pull.. more of a hassle and when I see the over method I'm triggered
