What’s the best Otterbox case for the iPhone XS? Otterbox surprised me this year. They updated two of their cases AND released a new for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

This is one of my favourite thing cases because of how well it handles. If you need a no-nonsense, well-handling case, consider getting the Otterbox Traction.

-Clear back will show fingerprints and scratches
-Will slide around easily

—Otterbox Pursuit—
The updated Pursuit for the iPhone XS and XS Max is amazing. I personally didn’t know that Otterbox was able to make cases this awesome.

Pros:
-Updated design works well
-Handles well
-Feels tough
-Great button access

Cons
-Tough to install
-Will slide around easier than the average case
-Bulkier than the average case
-Pricey

Thin and light. The updated case is quite nice.

-Thin
-Great buttons
-Lots of different designs

One of the fancier cases on this list!

Pros:
-Nice blend of leather, PC and TPU
-Handles better than the Symmetry
-Doesn’t slide around as easily as the Symmetry

-Bulky
-Buttons are tough to use

Otterbox’s only wallet case…

Pros:
-Magnetic latch
-Lots of drop protection

Cons
-Only hards 1-2 cards
-Bulky as a wallet case

I’m not sure why you’d get this case now. The only selling feature was the buttons that were better than the old Symmetry and the dust cover for the port which the Pursuit now has.

Pros:
-Decent buttons
-Handles better than the Otterbox Symmetry
-Better dust protection

Cons
-Thick
-Dust might be an issue around the buttons
-Will slide around easier than other cases

Old faithful? Once a Defender user, always a Defender user? A tough case that’s bulky and yes, your iPhone will still break in it.

Pros:
-You know it’s going to protect your iPhone
-Covers most of the iPhone
-No plastic screen protector/no screen damage
-Has a belt clip

Cons:
-No screen protector
-Bulky

The perfect case for the germaphobe?

Pros:
-Same Pro’s as the regular Defender
-Comes with Microbial Defense
-Doesn’t have the cutout for the Apple logo

Cons
-Doesn’t have the cutout for the Apple logo
-Doesn’t seem to offer any additional drop protection
-Same Cons as the regular defender

Ever since my first phone I have been using Otterbox Commuters and never had a damaged phone with it on. Rubber is the best shock absorbtion material.

I returned my clear Symmetry after 9 days. I know a lot of people like them, but I'm not a fan.
Pros:
1. Fantastic clicky wonderful buttons
2. Shows off the color and design very well
3. Not too bulky.
However, my personal cons of the case are what made me take it back:
1. Claims to be scratch resistant, yet somehow had very visible seemingly deep scratches after 9 days, zero drops, zero instances of putting it in my pocket with my keys, and fairly careful usage (got it the day I got my XS)
2. Something is off about the fit. Through some part of the case, be it the sides, the camera hole, or whatever else, pet hair, debris, and water when I took it out in the rain, loved to get through. Super annoying. Constantly had to take it off to clean it out unless I, for some reason, loved looking at random specks on the back of my phone. This leads me to point 3.
3. MASSIVE pain to take off. I'm not the strongest and at first I thought it was just me, but not even the well-built adult male employee who showed me the case at Best Buy could get it off of my phone with any sort of ease.
4. Points 1-3 considered, it doesn't feel like it's worth $40 USD at all.

I returned it and ended up buying the Spigen Liquid Crystal case from Amazon. Had it for a couple of months now. No scratches, fits great, basically never any debris in the case, easy to take off, and costs only $12. Cannot personally recommend the clear symmetry case, but again, that's just me. The other symmetry cases seem pretty nice.

OtterBox traction looks pretty sweet with that splatter paint design on the rubber sides but don’t like the way it slides around like it does but I guess that’s what you get when you get a clear case like that

Which do you like better, Traction series or Catalyst Impact Protection and also, which do you think provides the most protection?

I used Symmetry for my 7+, and since the phone was not all glass, I was comfortable with it. With my xs max I am more comfortable using the commuter, perhaps I wasn’t willing to spend $90 on pursuit for few minor benefits. So as much as I love your review, I have to disagree with you that commuter series is useless. Cheers

Lol, I wipe down my Iphone Xs with Glass cleaner/Clorox wipe; everyday when I come home! I can't stand holding my phone after a long day at school without cleaning it, Also phones can cause acne if not cleaned!
