So, What Happens Next?

Elon Musk used a meme to troll Twitter in response to his upcoming legal battle with the social media platform over his decision to withdraw from his $44 billion purchase of the company. I'd be interested to know what's going on in his head...

I still like the "world hunger" argument. If a few billions in private investment could solve world hunger, and governments have had budgets in the trillions for several decades... are they admitting governments can't or won't solve problems?

Also, those memes he posted are 100% truth. I think he's got them in Chuckmate.

He gave them an offer that they can’t refuse and now backing out they’ll sue him which means all the information he tried to expose to begin with Hass to be exposed mission accomplished we win

honestly if Elon made a social media platform it would probably would make it to twitter status just from his reputation. also might be slightly cheaper to make a platform then to buy twitter

The reason Elon wants to know the number of bots is because he wants to know how much Twitter is worth. Twitters value is based on the number of users it has. So if half of the users are bots then Twitter isn’t worth 44 billion but at most 22 billion (probably less). Not only would that mean Elon wouldn’t buy Twitter but that would mean Twitter would be in trouble with their shareholders too since they essentially lied to them inflating their value.

Twitter underestimated how intelligent Elon is. Maybe not in his personal life 😂😂 but business wise he knows what he’s Doing.

Elon is smart. Going to court will make Twitter have to disclose the bots

The meme that Elon posted is exactly my theory of why he's doing this. Dude's not stupid.

It isn't exactly speculation. Delaware's privacy laws don't cover anything beyond an LLC, which Twitter is not. And a lawsuit is never one-sided. Elon Musk has the right to present his argument as to why he chose to back out of the deal. As per his argument, he's required to prove that it's true. This is what a "Discovery" phase is for. All relevant information is demanded by his attorneys with the full backing of a court order. If it's a court order, Twitter will have no choice but to comply. If they don't comply, there's a Sanction the court can than slap Twitter with. The Sanction will either refuse Twitter's evidence, dismiss their lawsuit entirely, strike their defense, or slap them with a monumental fine which renders moot the $1 Billion severance charge. If they give false information, there's a Perjury charge (which Amber Heard is now under investigation for). If the information is correct and It's admitted into the court, then Twitter loses the lawsuit.

Note: Striking a defense means the claims Twitter is making will not proceed. It's going to halt the case entirely, which means Twitter stocks tumble further and the Board of Directors will be forced to negotiate.

Now you see why it's a 4D chess move?

Hopefully Twitter discloses the amount of bots at court. Also loved the star wars reference! Also, Leon musk! Lol

Pretty sure Elon has thought this through we're all just in for the ride.

Although I've gone complete anarchist since covid and 1/6/21 happened where I have renounced my right to vote (at the national level that is), I will be on the side lines absolutely rooting for The Donald over DeSantis in 2024. Solely because a new age of conservatism has its home within the States, and Ron is doing a mighty fine job. Bringing that to DC will just put the rose-colored blinders on everyone on the Right once again, in believing that the Swamp can be reformed for the better, when it's nothing but a blackhole like military adventurism in the Middle East. Whereas the MAGA brand is absolutely what our republic needs, in that it accepts what human nature is screaming and pleading at us with: the time is here to let the Visigoths in and let them get to work. Breathing a new path of green in this dead forest.

Elon is and will always be one step ahead. He knew this would happen even before making the offer.

Having them sue him it's really a win-win because he gets information that he wants something because the court will compel them to release the information that he wants and then he'll be able to buy the company and have the information that he needed.

Usually I fast forward through ad reads, but I don't skip Brett's, because they're silk. She's gets in and out of them so smoothly I just have to sit back and admire them. She should teach a Masterclass.

Elon will back out of the deal and pay his $1 billion fine. Twitter stock will crash and then Elon will actually pay a fair price for Twitter.

Elon just hit the ultimate checkmate. Because now if Twitter sues, twitter has to disclose their real stats in court

It would be funny if Elon wanted Twitter to sue him as planned so everyone sees it.

Even if he doesn’t buy it, I would venture to guess the drama he has created surrounding the company has had an effect on how people view it. Maybe even helped people realize that Twitter is shadier than they may have believed.
That alone is a positive outcome.
