Great stuff Luke. I find the oddball of this list is Abyss which I do love but is significantly lower in complexity than the rest of your list. Like.. 2 handed solo Spirit Island melts my brain!

Nice list! I could never get into Spirit Island at all and actively avoid it but yes Ark Nova and Arnak are really fun. If nothing else these lists are very helpful for exploring other games I may not have looked into, thanks!

Excellent stuff as always Luke. I play Spirit Island true solo as well, I only have base + Horizons and find that enough spirits to play with. I think I'm about the same level as yourself by the sounds of it 😀. Been thinking of getting Fields of Arle for purely solo, you've definitely sold me on it. I like Ark Nova and mainly play it solo but wouldn't say it's my number one game.

Enjoyed your list and review! Glad to see Earth on your list. I got some accessories on Etsy to enhance with the table presence for Earth. Overall, I’m finding family and friends I play games with enjoy lighter more accessible games that can play in about an hour or so. The mid-weight to heavier games just don’t make it to the table too often. Ark Nova and the Arnak games look enticing to me.

I am not sure why you seem so bugged by people saying you don’t play heavy games….most of the games you play are much heavier than what I like and there seem to be very few light/party games near top of your list. I am glad to see Ark Nova as that is among my favorites too!
