Land Rover helps the Community Food Pantry DEFEND against Hunger

The Land Rover Defender 130 can help defend against hunger in the community by assisting the Community Food Pantry in it’s daily operations. The Community Food Pantry provides supplemental groceries, including fresh produce to families who struggle to make ends meet. This is done so in a dignified manner as a means to provide a small lift to those in need, basic food for the hungry. We engage the entire community to join our efforts, as we build and empower youth and utilize the wisdom of senior volunteers to make our community stronger. Businesses, sports teams, social groups, Girl and Boy Scouts, Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, churches, synagogues, and everyday people like you and me jump in to make this a welcoming place for those who are food insecure and those who serve others.

With the help of local grocery partners through our agency partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay we move over 30,000 pounds per week through our "little" pantry. Often referred as the "little pantry that could" we mastermind serving nearly 2,000 unique families each month in just over 1,000 square feet. A task fueled by passion, kindness, dignity, selflessness and love, we serve the underserved. The Land Rover Defender award would boast our mission to serve not only serve more efficiently but also more effectively. We often use personal volunteer vehicles to haul our load over many hours and numerous trips. The space, power, flexibility and safety features of the Defender would grace our pantry with so much more than we could imagine.

As grocery costs, gas, housing and overall inflation are on the rise across the country, the cost of "doing business" has caused our mission to adjust too. We are serving more families. Florida, in particular, has a higher than national average increase in overall daily living expenses.
