If you have space at home, do a mock setup with some friends or family. Have everyone stand in your shopping space at once. If you feel crowded, so will your customers. There's many customers that feel trapped in the traditional U-shaped setup and simply will not stop in if another person is already in that tight space.

Seasoned vendor here. A lot of what you said is spot on! Canopy weights and a wagon are essential pieces of equipment. One piece of advice I can share is try to have your transport containers for small items double as your display. I am a tie dyer and soap maker so it's funny how our product lines are similar. Other essentials I would add are a battery powered fan, a clean up kit (with wipes, paper towels and a trash bag), and a cooler with drinks and possibly snacks.

A word about pink tents - they're eye-catching, but they WILL change the color of the items you display, especially on a sunny day! It's like boosting the warmth & saturation on a photo. Something to consider before you invest.

I use a Fannie pack with seperated zipper pockets. No cash box. Works great for me

Very informative. Thank you. One thing we have started doing also is we bought little risers, I think they are for a bed or something, but they’re like 4-6” blocks that we put under each table leg just to raise it up a little higher. It doesn’t seem like much, but somehow it just raises stuff up enough to feel a difference, if that makes sense.

I would add to not get too fixated on your booth being a specific layout because sometimes you might need to change it up last minute, depending on your neighbor's setup, how much space there is between booths, and even if the ground is unlevel. I've had to move tables to straddle potholes on the pavement before to avoid trip hazards, and I've also ended up being on a corner unexpectedly, which meant I did better with 2 entrances and a more open layout, since customers might come in from either direction. If you have a lot of room between booths, I like to set may tables up in a T shape and maximize display space, but if they are tight together, I have to use a U. If I have neighbors very close and they have up their side walls, I can't put up my back wall because it traps all the fresh air out and it becomes a sauna inside. But if there's space, I sometimes put up 2 walls in direction sun will be coming in, to make it cooler. You also have to be careful if there's a chance of rain and your neighbors have up side walls -- they will dump water into your tent and that becomes an issue, so you have to have your walls ready to pop up quickly if it starts to sprinkle. Point being -- come up with a few different variations so you can change up easily when you get there, if needed.

Just discovered you with this video, and I loved all your info and tips! Thank you so much. I have done a slow crawl building my business, and hadn’t invested too much energy into pop ups or shows. Cuz I simply don’t have enough inventory built up. But this is great! I make handbags, and dabble in stickers… looking to get into stationary.
