Ive only had a sucky time at the Dubai airport. My husband and I were stuck in customs for 8 hrs bc "their system shut down." Imagine a scene from a 3rd world country with thousands of people sitting on the airport floor with children crying bc theyre tired and hungry from a 18 hr flight- not to mention their parents and adults exhaustion. On top of that whenever anyone got mad and got up to make a fuss about the hours long and yet still unknown extent of a delay, guards would cart them out soviet style. Then on the way out of Dubai for my sisters wedding my parents flight got cancelled after 6 hours of delays due to weather and then they were rerouted to another flight that has 9+ hours of delays. Keep in mind Dubai doesn't have any policies to keep passengers safe and hold the airlines accountable- unless youre going or coming from europe. The airlines can keep the passengers there as long as they want so they can avoid paying for their hotel. In my experince, Dubai is only luxurious if you have millions to spend. For the everyday folk, the infastructure is that of a third world country. The buildings are built poorly and the streets flood if theres more rain than expected. Wouldn't want to go back to the Dubai airport if I can help it.

I found this airport the most rude I have been to. Not a friendly airport at all.
