As a long-time Linkin Park fan, and given Chester's end, I think it would have been better to rename the band. It has been done before and isn't new territory, plus again, given the former tragedy, it would have been easier to understand a rebrand. They could even put out promos letting it be known they formed from other bands, to get their old music new streams while also gaining interest (and respect) for the forming of a new band. I feel like saying it's LP without Chester (while vocals can change) doesn't feel the same since he was there from the beginning to his end, and instead of reforming after a few months they wait YEARS, further solidifying his place, only to years later say they are LP with a new (amazing) vocalist. But I feel like this could have just been a new band because now it kind of disrespects Chester, and the new vocalist, because OF COURSE people will compare them, and because he is not around to defend himself, there is no winning for anybody. All that word pasta said, I'll still listen, cause I love their sound, but I feel it could have been done with a new name and marketing to let us know the origin bands that formed it, like a 60-second TikTok. Hell, you could have named yourself LP2 & that would have been much better. End of rant.

What makes art more special is when the artist is no longer alive to continue the art. They should’ve let Linkin Park died with Chester and continue on to with a fresh start. Fresh as in new singer as we can see, but also a new name for the band. Whenever the band feels to have a memorable moment they can always tap back into Linkin Park but that is it. The new singer hmm not feeling it she’s not made for this type of music they could’ve done better.

I understand it is right to give emily a chance. However, it is personally going to shake me. I grew up as linkin park as a staple in my playlist. Now when I bring up linkin park in conversation to a younger person I will feel old because all they would know is emily. They will not associate the band with Chester. What next soundgarden or audioslave will come back and replace chris cornell? Just like frank sinatra, somethings shouldnt be replaced.

I think people need to grow up. Yes no one is going to replace him, but would you rather the band die off or are y’all just angry that it’s a female singer?

I dont understand not wanting LP to continue just because Chester is gon. Thats a misunderstanding of what bands are and how music gets made. Its a collaborative medium. Sure it's not the same, how could it, but its still LP. We should feel lucky the band didnt break up and be forgotten in the history of Nu-Metal.

They should’ve just started a new band. Sorry, Mike, but Linkin Park will ALWAYS ONLY BE with Chester.

Follow. I feel bad for anybody having to do that.

*I hate when they do this, just like Alice in Chains, if you're gonna replace the person that was the image of your band then change the freaking name or follow the example of Type O Negative.*

Wonderful news, it's time to move on. It's been nearly 7 years. It's unreal that a small percentage of fans are acting like this "ruins Linkin Park".... Bennington did that himself, did you not hear their music the last several years he was alive? "Heavy"??? Really? LOL Grow up.
