Always pick Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal when it counts. All the others are minor teams.

What is needed from England is the managerial will to open up the play offensively and press the other teams into making mistakes. They have the talent. They do not have the will. That is why they play conservatively.

“Portugal are better without Ronaldo” ya right! They were real good without Ronaldo against Morocco in the World Cup huh?

I think Italy will have it very very though. But, if Donnarumma, Bastoni, Dimarco, Barella, Chiesa, Pellegrini, Scamacca click and play at their very best, they could be a tricky team to face.

Always so much hate on Italy… let’s see what happens

england has to attack with speed, quit playing ponderously . Their muddy slow play reflects their manager's demeanor

Everyone is sleeping on Belgium, on the attacking front and midfield end THEY ARE DANGEROUS. Lukaku, Openda, Doku, Bakayoko, De Bruyne, Tielmans, Onana, Witsel… just to name a few. Perfect combo of experience, youth, and athleticism.

How was the meltdown Ronaldo’s fault? He didn’t start the game that they lost( had the meltdown he was referring to)

It's not just Gareth's conservativeness that's holding England back... he needs to make more use of the bench. There is so much attacking depth but he doesn't know how to change tactics mid game when plan A isn't working... saw this v Croatia in 2018 and then in the final v Italy. His subs are almost always reactive rather than proactive!

Is anybody else just generally excited for this tournament without being overly analytical and hating? I love football and a good international tournament is the most exciting thing to behold!

I personally favoured France and Germany. Not surprised if they meet in the Final. England are a serial bottlers. Missing out Maguire only left a big crisis for the defenders.

Any danger of English pundits highlighting Englands POTY 2x in a row, and best player in the 2022 WC, as a key man?

They were right about Portugal, people forget that the big interview with Piers was released the day before their first game, it was a circus in the camp and he pissed off a few people. Then he didn’t deliver on the pitch, proving Ten Hag point that he wasn’t in form. That with a defensive coach, didn’t help. I am portuguese and I thought he was a disrespectful distraction in Qatar. We could have done better if he wasn’t so selfish that tournament.

This is the world England squad I've ever seen. If it is possible, I think Italy vs France will be the final.

Germans love their NT, thats why they are so critical and demanding. But the relation to home clubs is always stronger for the fans.
