I started using vinegar and baking soda 30 years ago when I was om food stamps in the US. These items are used in cooking and therefore were covered under the program. And I have continued to use them along with dish soap, Murphys oil soap ànd lysol cleaner made from cioncintrate and put in a recycled spray bottle. I buy quality products after wasting money on the cheaper stuff that didn't work. I also reuse things like glass jars and buy second hand furniture and clothes when possible.

Girlfriend, you are constantly adding value to my life. Thanks. I am currently in a country that has food that I don't like and it's expensive. So one tip that I can give you is to cook at home. Not just cook at home but batch cook. My batch meals are handy on days I don't want to cook. I also never cook one meal at a time. I cook a meal for the day, while cooking an additional meal or prep another daysmeal. Thanks again for all you do.

Great tips! I’ve been using your DIY recipe of baking soda, dish soap and essential oil to clean my bathtub for years now! One way I have been saving money is also by eating out less and making EVERYTHING at home; from cookie doughs, cakes, ice cream, meals, you name it! I am a professional chef after all 😂

We hang up most of our laundry on a clothes line instead of using the dryer. This has helped to dramatically cut the cost of our electricity. I usually grocery shop twice a month, make meal plans every week, batch cook often as needed, do a lot of home cooking, rarely go out to eat, and cut back on the amount of meat we eat at meals as well as have meatless days. I also find if I schedule certain days for various cleaning routines, I give myself free time to relax and enjoy the day. A person should not be a slave to the house, but needs time to recharge and refresh.

I've been making my own all-purpose cleaner for years, and I love that I can change the smell to whatever I feel like by adding a couple drops of essential oils to it.

I live in an apt complex for older adults.
One resident is providing sheet laundry detergent in our laundry room for all to use.
Thank You, Nancy!

I charge me EV and run my dishwasher after 9pm. I have cleaning products that have probably gone bad since I starting watching your channel because I make my own now. I’ve also invested in good spray bottles and no longer try to “make it work” with the old broken sprayers!

Definitely making diy products. I was a bit hesitant at first, but your solutions work so well and have already saved me TONS of money. I’m trying not to go out as much as well as use less product for dish soap, body wash, etc. It’s easy to use too much and a lot of times less is more.

I use mostly DIY cleaners and that helps. I don’t go out to eat. I don’t eat fast food. I don’t like pizza very much so that doesn’t cost. I cook daily. There are things I refuse to buy off brand and like you laundry detergent is one. I used Tide for years. My mom used it. But I now use Persil liquid. It works really well and has a mild fragrance. The one store bought cleaner I use is Pine-Sol. I use it really diluted. I haven’t used the blue window cleaner since I found you website. Vinegar and alcohol and water with a few drops of essential oil is unbeatable for me. And I use your recipe for tile floor cleaner and love it. Take care everyone.

Hey Melissa, I took your advice decades ago (not saying you're old. You are not), and mixed dish soap and vinegar, Its great! Before that, I used vinegar and plastic wrap to prevent evaporation. It worked, but it cost money.

Also, I use a mix of bleach and water (5:1 water) which I believe is on the bleach bottle. It has deteriorated and needs more bleach now, due to oxidation? I don't know. Something. It's just not strong anymore.

That's it. All good. I do love your channel, so please keep up the good work! I hope you all enjoy your holidays.

I save the water that runs when I wait for the water to get warm when I shower. I get 2 liters of water which I then use to either wash my vegetables, soak greasy dishes, or water my plants. I also unplug my appliances when not in use especially when I'm traveling.

I have been using a lot of your diy products instead of the store bought products

I love the cleaning videos. They are streamlining my time and fine tuning my cleaning budget as a senior. Although I do have a question. Being a senior, I remember a time when there was no plastic or at least very little. I am exploring something I used to use before. Bar shampoo /body wash. I had given up trying to find until they resurfaced. Now something my grandmother talked about was bar dish soap. This would cut down on the largest contributor to plastic in our house but unsure of the quality. Would this fall in your wheelhouse? Could still be used in your recipes.
